Meet Patsy

Patsy Hazlewood is a proud fifth-generation Volunteer. The eldest of four children – including three brothers – Patsy grew her roots on their family farm near Fayetteville. She grew up and moved to Murfreesboro where she graduated with a degree in Math and Physics with Secondary Education Minor from Middle Tennessee State University. With her life mantra, “If you show up and do your best, then opportunities will come your way” she set off into business and did just she said she would.

Patsy has made it a driving force to unify the powerful engine of business with the critical role of community. With her unstoppable work-ethic, she was entrusted with high-level positions such as Regional Vice President for Corporate and Community Affairs with AT&T, Regional Director for Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (Southeast), and Organizing Director for Capital Mark Bank & Trust (Currently Pinnacle Bank). With a blended background of economic, business-minded community development, Patsy makes it her mission to listen to the citizens of Tennessee and take the fight to Nashville.

A fiscally conservative, limited government-minded, business-centric citizen. But first and foremost, the mantle of civic duty comes from our word. If we say we’re going to do something, then we’re going to do it. A conservative powerhouse with a name for asking the tough questions and seeing them through the point of execution. Elected to the Tennessee House of Representatives, she currently serves as the Chairman of the Tennessee House Finance, Ways, and Means Committee and has delivered for hard-working Tennesseans in the following ways:

  • She has helped our small businesses re-open once shuttered doors and restart Tennessee’s powerful economic engine.

  • Led heavy investment in our children to minimize and overcome the education gaps caused by COVID-19 remote learning

  • Investing in our communities for families and individuals still suffering the effects of the pandemic

  • Our work is not yet done. With fiscally responsible and conservative investment, it is our mission to build a more prosperous Tennessee that respects our citizens with highly effective and efficient use of our taxpayers’ hard-earned money.

Patsy married Dr. David Litchford (Crossville) in May 2021. Family is everything to Patsy! After a hard day fighting for Tennessee, she plays with her grandchildren, hosts the occasional family dinner party, and finds a new adventure traveling to an exciting new destination with her loving husband. An avid reader, gardener, and most importantly a Beacon Elder and Trustee with Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church since the 1980s, Patsy is a key pillar in the community. With her exceptional record of experience, community, and business, she is the Volunteer we need for a more prosperous Tennessee!
